GORILLA BISCUITS Limelight Courtrai 24/09/1989

I went to this gig with my friend Dany (RIP) and for us it was 
special because it was the first time we saw a band from the USA.
I didn't remember if Foetus from BKZine was with us....JUDGE
was planned but was not there. PROFOUND (NL) replaced them 
and they largely fulfilled their role. RISE ABOVE was a local band 
(I think it was the second time I saw them). Overall it was a good 
evening even if I found that the atmosphere between metal kids and
straigh edge kids was not very friendly. During the GORILLA BISCUITS
set the crow gone mad.

SLOY: Plug

Sloy were a french noise rock band. The band were formed in 1991 in Béziers and disbanded in 2000.

Between 1991 and 2000 they produced 3 lps and 4 eps. Here is their first one produced by Steve Albini.

LE FANTOME/ MASSILIA SOUND SYSTEM/ LES CAFARDS/NUCLEAR DEVICE

La Cheminote was a venue vers many bands have played. In febrary 24th 1989, we could see four band the same evening. First Le Fantôme was a local band, Massilia Sound System from Marseille at their beggining. Les Cafards is once of the first very punk bands i have seen live, I saw them once before at a festival in Ris Orangis in 1984. At the end we saw Nuclear Device who had a big audience in 1989.

Strange Men

During the same show as Molodoï (see last post) we could see a local band named Strange Men. The drummer was a friend of mine. After that he played in different local bands.
