Paris Mix is a very rare french compilation with bands from Paris and its era. It came out in 1982 on ZED records. 2000 copies were pressed. The first side is rather "cold wave" and the second punk.
Warum Joe is a band from Paris. They began in 1981. Their music was somewhere between punk and coldwave. The sound is characteristic because they use a drum machine. This 7" was put out by New Rose in 1983, the band was very happy of this record.
Kremlin Kontingent was formed in Corbeille (Essone) in 1982. Before (1981) they have been named "couilles molles et les attributs". This ep have been auto-produced in 1983 and 1000 copies were made.
I don't have to introduce this well known french band. The live tracks was recorded with a drummer (Gaboni from Lucrate Milk) because guys has stolen the drum machine. The record was limited to 700 hand numbered copies.
A 7" from the band based in LeMans. This record was produced in 1988. The band had to play a gig at the Bebop Festival and they thought that the ticket price was too expensive. They produced this 7" to give it away at the entrance. The last records was sold by Bondage record. 700 records was pressed without picture sleeve. The first song is a remix, the second and the third are live.
Lucrate
Milk was formed in 1981 at Paris. They have stopped before to split in
1983. In those 3 years they have put out 2 autoproduced e.p. and a
split album with MKB. Here is the 2nd e.p. Lucrate Milk was:
*Nina (keyboard, vocals) *Laul (bass, then Bérurier noir) *Gaboni (drums, then M.K.B.) *Masto (sax, then Washington dead cats, Bérurier noir) *Helno (vocals, then Bérurier noir, Négresses vertes).
From Epinay sur
Seine in 1984. I have discovered this group when they played at the
first punk gig which I saw at Ris Orangis (1984). There was also
(amongst other) Chaos UK, Lunatic Fringe, Enola Gay....
After this e.p. they have produced a L.P. ("Vive les vacances"),one 12" (Des goûts et des couleurs") and were presents on some compilations.
To start a typical french record. From one of the older records I own. It is a cover of the french national anthem "LA MARSEILLAISE" by one of the best french band OBERKAMPF. This version was on a flexi and to have it you had to send a stamp to a fanzine and you had the record in return. It was in 1982....
